The School of Geography and Environmental Studies offers distinctive programs in human and physical geography, environmental studies, and spatial science. This Learning Circle is a collaborative forum forĀ our community to enable exchange and academic dialogue.
This round table enables anyone with an interest in NRM around Australia to engage in discussion about good governance for a sustainable future.

This forum is provided for UTAS Theme Area Coordinators to network on matters of mutual interest related to strategic plans, operational activities and outcomes.

In this LearningCircle, 10 participants, comprising mostly independent publishers and music producers, will gather in a virtual workshop to engage with distribution issues, including long tail theory and practical case studies. Under guidance from intellectual property e-commerce specialist, Peter Higgs, participants will develop their own online distribution strategy and implementation plan. At the end of the LearningCircle participants may continue to belong to a close network of peers for ongoing support.

The arts in the new marketplace
In a global marketplace thrown open by readily available web technologies and increasingly proactive consumers, the old rules of business no longer apply. Where's it all heading and what can the arts sector do to avoid being left behind? In this intensive 2-week ThinkTank, 11 prominent arts professionals will take a hard look at the new market realities and brainstorm scenarios to lead the sector through the challenges into a positive future.

The ThinkTank will be chaired by Ross Dawson founder and CEO of Advanced Human Technologies (AHT). Ross Dawson is in demand worldwide for his innovative work with senior executive teams to integrate the immediate implications of technological, social, and economic developments into longterm strategy.

This think tank aims to generate a different and creative way of thinking about the future of the Tasmania design sector.
